This is a unique antique Tibetan Gau which is a Tibetan buddhist amulet container or prayer box. Usually worn as jewelry. A ritualistic object believed to provide protection from evil(bad spirit). Gau box are portable shrines in which images of the owner’s personal deities are kept together with other sacred objects.
